"Dependable stubby stick. Rewards with every puff."

It gets my rating of GFS. These are dependable fat little smokes. 9 out of 10 that came from the box would reward you with a wonderful taste and something that I think is just as important a scrumptious passive burn. Like all cigars that I have ever purchased there will be the occasional medium to bad smoke. Things like a bad wrap that makes the draw to hard or a really bad burn that has the ember half way up one side and not the other. The 1 out of 10 in this box was maybe just a little off on flavor. Get a box and impress your friends without breaking the bank. I will be ordering another box very soon. Enjoy.

"Truely a great cigar!"

A fine cigar to go with a fine semi-sweet white wine.A slight hint of leather with cinnamon and spice on a sweet finish.The Lot 23 is a wonderful smoke for the early afternoon or after dinner with friends or alone.This would be a great warmer weather cigar,especially after two weeks or more in the humidor.This is not the Maduro for those looking for coffee and cocoa but is one for lighter palates.I am deeply impressed and intend to keep at least more than a few in my humidor.An exceptional cigar for all occasions.Highly recommended...try them!

"Perfect Morning"

This Lot 23 maduro is the greatest to smoke with the morning coffee. Smooth, rich and full of flavor. Like many of the other reviewers I agree almost burnt my fingers enjoying this wonderful smoke. Hard to beat this quality at this price. Great burn, great ash, great wrapper, great construction......OK do you get the point they are great. Highly recommended.

"One Smooth Cigar"

Such an enjoyable cigar, loved from the fisrt light till I burnt my fingers getting the last puff out of it. The only disappointment is that I am almost out and need to buy more! The maduro has that extra little kick to it that I enjoy. Great evening cigar to unwind with either a nice merlot or a cold one!!

"A True Maduro Masterpiece"

In my quest for the perfect cigar, my humidor has seen quite a few good smokes. I have Cuban Montecristos, Cohibas, and other big namers that are sitting there aging in that "precisely maintained" box of mine, because my recent purchases from Famous have suggested that the Nicaraguan tobaccos have proven themselves to be very worthy competitors in the production of fine cigars. Admittedly, I tend to enjoy med strength rather than full. But the rich full bodied/med strength flavor of these Lot 23 Robustos is perfectly consistent - and GOOD! I don't quite understand all that "leathery, chocolate, espresso, and spice" BS. I guess I am just too simple. But the wrappers, the long filler tobaccos, and binders selected and expertly fused to create these sticks are nothing shy of pure excellence. I started with trying a couple 5 packs, but had to go with a box next, to be sure there was always another on deck when the mood hits, (which has been every nite lately). I sometimes truly enjoy the Patel Rosados, and Nick's Champagnes too. But these 23's are magnificent smokes. I highly recommend them to anyone teetering on the fence of decision. BTW: They perfectly compliment a tall icy-cold Mojito, sipped under the fan on the back porch. On a warm summer's nite the experience is like nothing else legal in the continental 50!

"great value"

im half way through a box of maduros...remarkable thing is how this smoke has the same taste throughout. i enjoy full flavored cigars, and while this certainly is, it is not overpowering as are some Nicaraguas. nice burn, nice aroma (even my wife like the smell of these. really well balanced.

"Outstanding Smoke"

I smoked my second one last evening with a fresh cup of Italian Roast java. Wow! This cigar was just what the doctor ordered. From the pre-light to the nub, an outstanding smoke! Construction was flawless, draw was absolutely perfect with lots of sweet aromatic smoke, burn was slow and even, tasted flavors of cocoa and vanilla with a hint of cedar. This is a full flavor smoke. Not recommended for the newbie. But for the experienced afficionado, it's a great value. I paid $4.25 ea. and plan to buy a box with my next paycheck. Definitely a keeper.

"What a difference a maduro makes!"

Stumbling around the local smoke shop, I spied some Lot 23's. My prior experience with the naturals left me spooked...but they're such darn beautiful sticks, I had to give the maduro's a try. What a difference! Same great construction, but, unlike its bland natural cousin, the maduro is full of rich espresso and roasted almond flavor/aroma, yet not harsh or bitter. Paired great with a saisson homebrew; I can't wait to try it with a big port or barleywine.
