A/B Medalist Cuban Belicoso
"Too Tight, very poor draw"
I bought a box of ten at auction. Tried the first one two days after receiving them and the draw was terrible. It was so tight that I really couldn't taste it. After re-lighting it a half dozen times, I tossed it. That was about a month ago and I had a second one last night. The aging definitely helped and I enjoyed the taste, but still too tight. The remaining 8 will stay in the humidor for a long time.

"Very Nice"
I carefully aged the first one a full 30 minutes after the order arrived (time to change clothes and have a snack). It was an excellent smoke. Very nice full flavor that dropped off to just good near the end. Definitely a cigar I enjoyed and will recommend to friends. I'd suggest aging a bit longer, maybe an hour or two if you have more patience than I do.

"excellent but less so than the churchills"
I normally smoke the churchills and wanted to try this well made cigar in my usual robusto. They are very good and equally as good as a cheap cuban (which can be easily found in the UK and neighboring Europe). However this has shown me the difference that size makes to the same cigar in the flavour.

"A nice surprise!"
I tend to shy away from darker full bodied cigars, but these were great. A lot of flavor, but not overly strong. After a box I find the construction to be consistantly good, the draw is even and they burn well. A good value too. I wish they came in boxes of 25, though that is a small complaint.

"Gary K. knows his stuff"
"This cigar is like smoking a delicious piece of chocolate cake."
To all the nitpickin Know-it-alls: Korb recomended it, I tried it, and its a dandy.(ordered some twice so far)
All Cigars are the ultimate argicultural product folks, some are hand made- some machine made but,no two are alike. A lot of hard work in the jungle heat goes into them and the people that make them work damn hard. So for better or worse I enjoy every cigar I smoke for "What it's worth" (There are always a few duds!) But isn't that the beauty of it all about CIGARS?,
It's like sleepin' with a different woman evey night- some are incredible, and some are not, but either way your'e not alone and enjoying yourself,.......aren't you?

"Nice flavor...but"
This cigar has a very nice flavor. As a matter of fact it's one of my favorites because of the flavor. However, even if the cigar is lit evenly, it still tends to run. Furthermore, the draw is a little tight. If the draw was smoother, and the burn even, this would be a top notch cigar.

"Superb!"
I've purchased from Famous several times before, but this is my first review. I read several positive reviews about the Medalist and since I love a good maduro, decided to try a box. I tried to give these well crafted beauties a rest time in the humi, but had to try one right out of the box. What a treat! To run the cigar under your nose is a pleasure in itself; chocolate and coffee scents abound. The prelight draw is perfect and preps the palate for a true smoking experience. It lights easily and has a perfect draw; not too easy and not tight at all. The smoke stays consistantly cool and flavorful, and booms out huge clouds with each puff. The ash is nicely layered; dark and light grey and hangs on like a pit bull on a steak, coming off in a clean chuck after I tapped it at about an inch and a half down. The flavor is wonderful throughout, with a touch of sweetness that I so love in maduro wrappers and not a bit of that nasty sting on the tongue you can get from lesser cigars. The burn is nice too, staying pretty even all the way down. The three I've smoked so far have all been wonderful, tasty and consistent. The finish is long, leaving a pleasant coffee/cocao/tobacco taste in your mouth afterwards. I hope Alec Bradley continues to make this blend and I've already ordered a second box. I highly recommend this cigar if you like a full flavored maduro. Extremely tasty!
