La Casita Criolla Corona Gorda
"SO Much Flavor!"
La Casita Criolla is not Pete Tatuaje Johnson's first attempt at an all-broadleaf cigar, but it is the best, and the only one I've ever tried. This cigar is a masterpiece, and not just for what it is. At first glance, La Casita Criolla is kind of a strange specimen. The cigar band looks like a tag on a Christmas present. The wrapper is thick and gritty. More than a few of the cigars in the box had protrusions where the edge of the wrapper leaf was wrinkled or somehow caught on itself; this did NOT affect the burn. Having said that, it was not unpleasant to look at, just...uncommon for such a lovely smoke. The pre-light scent is of a mild, worn leather. Some sticks had a tight draw, but this was the exception to the rule. As for the flavor...I can't say enough of how well it tasted. There was so much broadleaf flavor in this cigar that I yelled for joy. It was consistent from right after the first inch until just beyond the start of the final 1/3. This smoke is as well-balanced and pleasant as the Liga Privada lines and the Oliva Serie O torpedo. I highly recommend this stick to anyone who has a well-defined pallet. It will knock your socks off.

La Casita Criolla Robusto
"expected much more!"
Ordered a Tatuaje sampler pack that consisted of 10 different Tatuaje cigars. Tonight I selected the Casita Criolla robusto. At first light the draw was very loose, it felt like there was not even a cigar in my mouth. The draw was so so loose that I could feel the heat on my tongue. About a 1/2 inch into the cigar it a hot patch ignited about 1/3rd into the wrapper. in other words the cigar was burning from the inside out. The cigar canoed and I adjusted it by cutting off the unburned portion, about a full inch. I could see a tunnel going down the center of the cigar. I cut away at it until the tunnel was gone and a dense face of tobacco was exposed. At this point at least half of the cigar had been cut away. Upon relight, the draw was tighter but still loose compared to other cigars of the same quality and price range. The burn evened out but was still way too hot to enjoy the cigar. I suspect the flavors and burn of this cigar was compromised by the poor construction and I did not get the full experience from it. I put it out with about 1/3rd of it left. Dissapointing is the only word that comes to mind. I will give it another try in the future.

La Casita Criolla Corona
"Good Experience"
Unlike a previous reviewer I had excellent quality in my five pack. I let all my smokes sit for at least a month. These were smoked over a 1-4 month period. I would rate it more of a med-full range cigar. It has some nice flavors and probably better the longer you let it rest.

"Take Some Time With These"
I try to sample everything that Pete Johnson comes out with, so when I saw this all-American cigar, I was intrigued and bought five petit coronas. Being impatient, I smoked the first one immediately upon receipt and was not impressed. It had a very firm draw and it tasted rather ordinary. Fortunately, I had read some information about cigars perhaps being over-humidified prior to shipment by mail order houses so I followed the author s suggestion and dry boxed the remaining four cigars to check that theory out. Whoever wrote the article was correct: after three days in a dry box, they had morphed into trememdous cigars with a smooth draw and an excellent flavor profile without being overpowering. My suggestion: make sure you aren t trying to smoke one that is too moist. If you wait, you WILL be rewarded with an extremely flavorful cigar.

"Meh"
I don't really know what to think of these... They have some good flavors, but two of mine were plugged up and were very acrid. And the third was great up until the last third were it suddenly got very harsh and the draw was impossible. I will not be buying these again because of the consistency. There were some great flavors, but the consistency is not there.
